Greetings DUFF Members
I found a web page by the Wisconsin Historical Society that includes an account of the hop culture in Sauk County during the 1860's and 70's, that would have been during the civil war and the time of Abe Lincoln. It opens to page 389 and the navigation links are in the left-hand column to continue reading the account by Mrs. Belle Cushman Bohn. We've talked some about when the hops boom occurred in our state and I guess this account sheds some light on the subject.
